Accurate
Construction is proud to offer new homes that have earned the ENERGY STAR®
label. ENERGY STAR® qualified new homes are at least 30% more energy-efficient
than homes built to the national energy code. Even in states with more
rigorous energy codes, the U.S. EPA ensures that ENERGY STAR remains the
symbol for truly energy-efficient performance. Our ENERGY STAR qualified
new homes are independently verified by a third party home energy rater
to ensure they meet ENERGY STAR energy efficiency guidelines. These homes
are better for the environment and better for you.
Benefits
of owning one of our ENERGY STAR® qualified new homes include:
- Furnace
A 90+ percent high efficiency furnace provides comfort while reduces
heating bills by up to 15% compared to a standard efficiency furnace.
This can translate into hundreds of dollars in savings per year. High
efficient furnaces also provide improved comfort, quieter
operations, safer operations, and extended warranties.
- Air Conditioner
12 Seer High Efficiency air conditioners can reduce cooling bills by
over 30% compared to a minimum efficiency air-conditioner. These products
feature high efficiency compressors and fan motors. These units offer
improved comfort, quieter operation, and extended warranties.
- Low "E"
Windows
High
performance Low E energy efficient windows are installed for added comfort.
These windows are warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer. The
inside surface of a Low "E" window can be more than 10 degrees
closer to the indoor temperature than a standard window. These surface
temperatures are important because radiant effects have 40% more impact
on comfort than air temperature alone. These high efficiency windows
improve comfort by reducing drafts and facilitating more even temperatures
throughout the house as well as lowering energy costs.
- Basement
Insulation
Basement insulation is added to the interior of the basement wall starting
at the top of the basement or sillplate down to the floor. This allows
for a limited amount of air to escape around the sill plate and box
sill. This added insulation also benefits in moisture reduction in the
basement that can lead to mold, mildew, and condensation. By adding
basement insulation, we are providing a more constant temperature (more
comfort), drier conditions, and lower energy costs.
- Sealed
Duct Work
Sealed duct work can significantly improve the efficiency of the overall
heating and cooling system in a new home. Typical duct work in a non
energy star home can lose an average of 15% to 20% energy from leaky
duct work. This puts added strain on the heating and cooling equipment
and causes utility bills to dramatically increase. The energy saved
by sealing the duct work can reduce energy costs by 10% to 20%.
- Programmable
Thermostat
Programmable thermostats allow the homeowner to program the heating
and cooling temperatures according to their schedule thereby reducing
costs. Programmable thermostats are also more accurate than the traditional
thermostats.
